Review | Zoya - Anchor

Hi everyone, so today's post is a review on Zoya's basecoat Anchor (0.5oz/$9). I've been using this for some time now after the demise of my Opi Natural Base Coat.

Zoya's Anchor, one coat

How I use this product: I apply one thin coat on bare and clean nails. Followed by 2-3 coats of a nail polish.

Pros: I've used this base coat for a couple of months now and I've used 1/4 of the bottle. The consistency of the product is still the same as when I applied it for the first time. It extends the life of my manicure and I can usually wear nail polishes (any brand) for at least five days before I see chipping. Zoya also claims that Anchor has a protein complex that strengthens nails. Usually when I'm on a polish bandwagon I notice that my nails are stronger because I'm paying more attention to them and pampering them. I'm not sure if it's because of the protein complex. One major complaint that I've heard is that Anchor makes the nail polish bubble. I haven't seen a problem with my nail polishes bubbling at all.

Cons: None

Mani Monday | Zoya - Aurora

Hi everyone, today's Mani Monday is featuring Zoya's Aurora. I picked up Aurora during their last promo, 3 free nail polishes just pay $10 for shipping and handling. Aurora is a shimmer type of nail polish that was released in Zoya's Ornate for Winter 2012 collection. If you folks consistently follow me, you know that I hardly ever wear shimmer/glitter nail polishes. I hardly wear them because I don't like the uneven texture of glitter/shimmer nail polishes and removing the shimmer/glitter nail polishes require extra work. After viewing swatches of Aurora, I couldn't help myself and immediately added it to my basket.

Zoya's Aurora
How I used this product: I applied Zoya's anchor base coat and then applied two coats of Zoya's Aurora. No top coat was used.

Pros: Aurora is purple base with heavy holographic shimmer. The shimmer is so fine and the coats are even! I didn't expect that at all. I thought I'd feel at least some grit but none at all. Since I opted not to use a top coat I was concerned about the dry time. I was pretty amazed that it was dry to the touch in less than five minutes!

Cons: I've worn this polish for two days and noticed two chips. Zoya's nail polishes usually last a long time before it shows some wear. I'm not sure if it's because I didn't wear a top coat. I opted not to wear a top coat because I've heard that could affect the holographic.

Although there was some chipping early on, I would repurchase this polish again regardless!

Mani Monday | Zoya - Reagan

Hi everyone, today is Mani Monday and I have Zoya's Reagan. Reagan was originally released in Zoya's Beach Summer 2012 Collection. Reagan is a dark purple/fushia creme finish nail polish.

Zoya - Reagan

Reagan applied opaque in 2 coats and it isn't streaky at all. Although it was released during Summer I believe you can wear this color year around because it's not too bright. I also think this will wear nicely on all skintones.

Mani Monday | Zoya - Cho

Hi everyone, every monday I'll be having a post about the new paint on my nails. Today, I have Zoya's Cho. I came across Cho in my search for the nude color for me. Cho is beige neutral color with a creme finish. It applies opaque in two coats but I applied three. The formula runs a little on the thicker side but it was do-able.

When I first swatches it on my finger I didn't like it but after painting all of my nails it has grown on me. It looks very mannequin-esque and sophisticated.

This picture is more accurate with the color. Zoya recommends it for people with yellow/olive undertones.

Zoya is coloring my world!

Hi everyone! Today I have a promo from Zoya. Get 3 free nail polishes and just pay $10 for shipping and processing. Zoya nail polishes retail $8 a piece so this is a deal and you don't want to miss!
