Product Review: The Brush Guard

I got this way back (late March) but I hadn’t had time to do a review on it. It was first introduced into the makeup world by Enkore and that’s the first time I checked out the website. I decided not to get it because it was sold in variety packs with a set amount of certain brush guards like (2 large, 2 medium, 1 small). When more makeup gurus were doing product reviews on the brush guards through YouTube. I checked the website again and they sold it in packs like 8 small brush guards and 5 medium brush guards. So that’s when I decided to get them.

Product: 4 out of 5
Packaging: 4 out of 5
Quality: 4 out of 5
Overall: 4 out of 5
Price: $5.50
Available: www.thebrushguard.com
Would I buy this again? Yes

Pros: With the brush guard it’s possible to dry makeup brushes upside down so the water won’t drain into the handle of the brush and ruin the glue that holds the bristles together. For traveling, it’ll protect the bristles from being damaged. While not in use, the bristles will be held tight together so the brush will maintain its shape.

Cons: The stretchable, breathable tube doesn’t seem like it’ll maintain its shape for a long period of time (I’m talking about years). I do see fraying already on some of the brush guards. I also didn’t like the fact that the S&H was already included in the package. So when ordering multiple packs the same S&H is applied to each pack. I think that is unfair because the items are all being sent to the same mailbox so I believed that a discount could have been given on the S&H.

Overall: I think it’s a good product to be used on fluffy brushes like blending brushes and powder brushes. Brushes that have harder and durable bristles I believe don’t need the brush guard because with the type of bristles it has; it should already able to keep its shape without the aid of the brush guard.
