Sorry for being MIA

So sorry for being absent for awhile...this semester is almost ending and I had like 2 days to do a book report for my Pscyhology of Women class (Procrastination won again!) and my other teachers are also dumping crap on me. eRrRr! The torture will end soon...3 more weeks? But I've been busy and I just wanted to do an update on my blog. Here's my doggie, Rufus, he's sleeping on the book that I did a book report for. The Female Brain...interesting book. I totally recommend it!

I went to my 4th? Mac Technique class the past saturday. It was uber fun. My makeup artist ended up doing the class along with the trainer for the whole Hawaii state. The trainer did a smokey eye look using the metallic eyeshadow palette and my makeup artist Jo did a day smokey eye look which she converted to a night look using the smokey eye palette. I have both palettes and the looks ended up beautiful! I must admit though I think I'm giving my smokey eyeshadow palette as a gift to someone because I think it's too light for me. (And I already have 2006 Mac smokey eye palette and the 2 quads from Smoke Signals) During the tutorials on how to do the look the trainer asks the audiences questions and if the answer is correct you get a prize! There was a total of 4 questions ask and I got 2 of them! So excited because I'm usually the one that doesn't win anything...So I got the mineralize eyeshadow in Ether from the Flashtronic collection and I got Yogamode beauty powder from the Rachel Welsh collection. I use the beauty powder as a highligher. The next day I tried my prizes out...this one is for faux fashionista, the flower icon is for up close pictures so its more into detail. Here's a picture of my prizes....

Picture of my prizes without flower icon....Ether isn't as clear
Using my prizes

Guess what my sister picked up at Mac? LOL I feel bad for Rufus, we always bother him in the middle of him sleeping.

I also went to Macy's and stopped by the Mac counter to thank Jo for the awesome job that she did. I also wanted to know more about the Of Beauty Launch that recently came out. So she tried Studio Light in Sand on me and Drizzlegold as a highlighter. The Sand Studio Light looked really good under my eyes because it works by brightening that area up so a concealer is needed. It also needs to be set with any powder. I tried it out the next day and it looked awesome, I'm saddened that it's limited edition so I ordered a backup today along with all the glitter eyeliners and two cream e/s from the Metal X. Once I get them in I'll do a review on it because I've heard some mixed comments on the cream e/s.

Hey girl;

Your dog is the cutest!!! Lol, How do you like your ME?
It looks GREAT on you!

I love my ME! That whole mineralize eyeshadow is all I used for eye except for my otherworldly paint pot(applied till crease). I wished I got more of them because the current ME aren't blended together like the ones from Flashtronic. The two ME's I got from Flashtronic are Ether and Lovestone. Lovestone is HOT! But I haven't tried it yet. I will tho and I'll post pictures. Yah my dog is pretty cute...spoiled tho

Aww... what a cute puppy! Haha. :] Thanks for stopping by, nice page you have here. :D That book sounds really interesting and man... I've always wanted to go to a MAC technique class. :P

Were you asking about my everyday minerals concealer? :] Well, I get it from http://www.everydayminerals.com and I use the sunlight for my under eye cirlce. :] The other concealers I recommend are the ones with intensive in the title. :] Happy turkey day!

o0o0 Ether is beautiful, I can't believe that's really all you used....i wonder if they have any e/s from the Flashtronic collection available in Michigan...our Mac counters tend to sell out of alot of stuff QUICK! but yeah, thats beautiful...I love you FOTD's they're always flawless...keep up the good work girl!

hey girl. how was your thanksgiving? glad you're back :) love the goodies you won. ether is REALLY pretty. i wish i had from that collection but that was waaay before MAC had a hold of my wallet. but the colors look so good against your skin. very pretty.

is the technique class open to the public? when i was at the store last week, i asked the MA there about something like that and she told me that i could schedule a one-on-one with a makeup artist and they go through everything. but it's only an hour and half. and i think it was a private session with the artist, not a class.

christianadivine: Thanks for the link for the concealer:) Yah the book is interesting and it's easy to read too. The Mac technique class was great, check with your closest Mac in Macy's store.

Tracez of my Lipstick: I saw some Mineralize Eyeshadows on eBay. They're kind of pricey tho. Thanks for the compliment:)

Mrs. Lynne: Yah, I wanted Ether when it first came out but it got sold out. So I'm like super excited I won it! Yah the technique class is open to the public. You just have to purchase $50 worth of products and y'all know that's like super easy to do!:P I would like the one on one with the artist better tho

I'll have to check out the Technique class. Thanks for the info :)

The MA told me that the one-on-one is $100 and for whatever month you take the class in, you get 20% off over everything for the whole month. So best to take it at the beginning of the month. I know you have a PRO card but at least if you took the class you could pick the products up there instead of waiting for shipping. Do you have an actual MAC store on your island? Or any CCO's?

Distinque said...

wow! that's cool. I think that's a better deal than mines! does the $100 go towards you purchasing the products? or you have to pay the MA? No Mac store only Macys so I always need to pay shipping & handling. But the s&h isn't that bad...NO CCO's I don't think they have it in Hawaii? Does Oahu have?

Mrs. Lynne, MakeupFix.net said...

She didn't say anything about the $100 going towards your purchase but that would be great if it did! I'll ask next time I go in. Only Macy's, huh? Boooo. Yah, we don't get CCO's here either.

yah you should ask! too bad you didn't do it earlier. there were alot of super great collections that came out
